Holiday

Lotion tan – the full body exfoliation will smooth and soften your skin, whist the tan will give you a healthy colour before you hit the beach!
Don’t forget to wear sun protection on holiday even after a tanning treatment, as the tan treatment does not offer any sun protection.

Special occasion

For a special occasion we would recommend spray tan for the quickest result. If you want your tan to last longer, visit for a top-up treatment after 4/5 days and your tan will last twice as long!

Dark tan

Spray tan – we can add special droplets to the tanning product to make it as dark as you dare!

PURE Beauty Tips and Aftercare Advice

• We strongly recommend exfoliating your skin prior to a spray tan treatment, as it produces a much better result and the tan will last longer. Pay special attention to areas of dry skin, e.g. elbows, knees, etc. We offer a pre-exfoliation service at PURE which you can add on prior to your spray tan for £20.
• You should leave at least 24 hours between any hair removal treatments (including shaving at home!) and a tanning treatment. This is because your skin is usually more sensitive after hair removal, which can affect the success of your tanning treatments.
• Do not wear deodorant or perfume when visiting for a tanning treatment as there is a small risk that these products may react with the tan.
• The tan lotion needs to be on your skin for at least ten hours before showering, to allow the tan to soak into your skin and achieve the best results.
• Be careful when washing your hands just after having the tan so that you don’t rub it off!
• It is preferable to wear loose, baggy clothes after your treatment to avoid rubbing any of the tan off before it has had time to develop.
• If you are having the tan done for a special occasion, we would recommend coming in 1 or 2 days before to have your tan done as your tan will last for up to 7 days and generally the best colour comes one or two days after the treatment has been done.

FAQs

What should I wear for a tanning treatment?
We recommend wearing loose, dark clothing when visiting for a tanning treatment (spray tan or lotion), as you don’t want clothes to rub after the treatment and rub your newly applied tan off! When you arrive for the treatment, you will be given disposable knickers or briefs to wear during the treatment. We recommend that ladies do not put their bra back on after a treatment to ensure that you don’t end up with strap lines.

How long should I leave before I shower after a tanning treatment?
We recommend leaving at least 10 hours before showering, to be sure that the tan has absorbed into your skin properly. PURE uses Sun Laboratories tanning products, which comes with a 'guide colour', so you will look tanned when you leave the salon, and when you shower, the guide colour will come off, allowing your natural tan to shine through.

Why do you use Sun Laboratories?
PURE uses Sun because it is one of the longest lasting fake tan products available (whether done as a spray tan or a lotion tan), and it has a natural green base to the liquid so there is no danger of getting that ‘orange kissed’ look. It also comes in two colour shades so you can tailor the colour to suit your needs. If you want to go really dark, there is also the option to add tan intensifier. You can also purchase Sun products at PURE to use at home, and your tan will last even longer if you keep it topped up with colour every 3 to 4 days.

The tan: The spray tan went on with no colour in the salon, it developed overnight and when I woke up in the morning I had a brown natural-looking tan – it wasn’t orange at all. The product didn’t feel heavy or greasy; it felt like my skin was being moisturised. I would definitely use this tan again and I’m considering using it for my wedding (although I might choose a lighter shade).
