This page includes some essential
information that you need to know before booking your treatments at PURE
or PURE Spa to get the most out
of your beauty treatments and spa therapies.
Tanning
Treatments
- You
should leave at least 24 hours between any hair removal
treatments (including shaving at home!) and a tanning
treatment. This is because your skin is usually more
sensitive after hair removal, which can affect the success of
your tanning treatments.
- Do
not wear deodorant or perfume when visiting for a tanning
treatment as there is a small risk that these products may react
with the tan.
- The
tan lotion needs to be on your skin for at least ten hours
before showing off to allow the tan to soak into your skin and
achieve the best results.
- Be
careful when washing your hands just after having the tan so
that you don’t rub it off!
Pedicure
Treatments
- Please
either bring or wear open toed shoes when visiting for a
pedicure to minimise the risk of smudging your toe polish.
- For
best results, give yourself 20 minutes after your pedicure
treatment to sit, relax and let your toe polish touch dry before
leaving the salon.
Manicure
Treatments
- For
best results allow yourself 10 – 15 minutes after your
manicure appointment to allow your polish to dry and minimise
any risk of smudging.
- For
the gel polish or permanent French treatments, you need to have
some length on your nails before coming in as you need to have
some nail tip so that the gel can be applied correctly and
prevent lifting or the gel.
- If
you would like the best results from the permanent polish, we
would recommend having a PURE Manicure with cuticle treatment
a week or two before the treatment so that your nails are in tip
top condition. This will ensure that your polish will last
as long as possible.
Massage
Treatments
- For
best results we recommend drinking plenty of water after your
massage treatment to flush any toxins from your system.
- You
will feel very relaxed after a massage treatment, so take it
easy and don’t do anything too strenuous!
- We
advise not to consume alcohol for at least 24 hours after a
massage treatment, especially a spa massage as the release of
toxins may make you feel a little more giddy than usual.
Waxing
Treatments
- For
best results, we advise leaving your hair to grow for at least 3
– 4 weeks before visiting for a waxing treatment so that the
hairs are long enough to be removed effectively.
- Most
people experience some redness of the skin after a waxing
treatment. This normally lasts anything from one to twenty
four hours, depending on the individual.
- As
your skin is sensitive after waxing treatments, you should avoid
swimming, using sunbeds, wearing deodorant (for underarm waxing)
for at least twenty four hours after your treatment.
- To
soothe your skin after waxing, use the Australian Bodycare Tea
Tree Hand & Body Lotion or Savalon.
- For best results with
your treatment, use a body scrub to exfoliate the area to be
waxed the day prior to your visit, and scrub three times a week
in the shower to keep your skin in tip top condition.
- See
our FAQ page
for any questions on Brazilian
and Hollywood bikini waxing.
