Overview

Botox, Dermal Fillers and anti-ageing treatments offered at PURE Spa are carried out by our partner GP, who has specific training and qualifications in the procedures undertaken. Injection treatments use a substance called Botulinum Toxin (commonly known as Botox) to relax the facial muscles and are particularly effective at smoothing fine lines and wrinkles around the eye and forehead areas. Chemical peel treatments are particularly effective at smoothing skin tone, reducing pigmentation, acne scarring, and fine lines and wrinkles.A free initial no obligation consultation can be arranged with our GP who can advise you on the best course of treatment for your individual circumstances. All procedures include a follow-up consultation to the course of treatments.

FAQs

Injections for fine lines & wrinkles

How do the injections work?
Botulinum toxin injections can soften the lines of the forehead, the frown lines and the crow's feet around the eyes by blocking the release of the chemical substance responsible for muscle contraction. Wrinkle relaxing treatment works only on the specific muscles injected leaving surrounding muscles to function as usual, so that your face is not expressionless.

How long does it last?
The effect is completely reversible and generally lasts for 2 to 6 months. The procedure is safe and most side effects minor, temporary and resolve with time. For the first year, treatments every four months are recommended to ‘re-educate’ the facial muscles. Thereafter treatments may be less frequent until longer maintenance treatments of up to a year may be all that is required. This varies from patient to patient.

What happens in the treatment?
The treatment takes around 20 minutes. The doctor will ask you to use certain muscles in the face to observe how they work. Areas to be treated are marked and then injected using a very fine short needle. This may cause slight but brief discomfort. After the injections the area may have some slight redness and swelling which resolves after one to two hours. The protocol of injection (doses, number of injections) will be decided based on the expectations of the patient and the clinical examination by the GP.
